Twitter is testing a new feature that will allow users to report misleading information.
The company said the trial would be running in Australia, South Korea, and the United States, adding that it was “starting small” to determine the impact of the feature on real users.
When users click on the Report Tweet function on their iOS device, they’ll be able to press a “It’s misleading” button.
Twitter added that it “may not take action on and cannot respond to each report in the experiment, but your input will help us identify trends so that we can improve the speed and scale of our broader misinformation work.”
It’s the latest in a series of changes from the social network to combat fake news and misinformation.
Twitter previously launched a “read before you retweet” message that appears if you try to share content you haven’t read.
The company has introduced a series of changes in recent months as it looks to grow its audience size and appeal to more consumers. The firm recently removed its controversial Fleets and has just rolled out a redesign of its app on iOS.
