Twitter’s Rahul Ganjoo Becomes Tech VP at India’s Snapdeal

After the exits of many of its high-ranking executives in recent months, Twitter has now lost another staffer, Rahul Ganjoo, to Indian ecommerce firm Snapdeal. Ganjoo has expressed excitement about his new role as Snapdeal’s vice president of technology.

Ganjoo, who was a tech employee at the social networking site for almost two and a half years, described himself as “incredibly excited to join the young and energetic Snapdeal family”, according to VentureBeat. He added: “Ecommerce in India is a very interesting space, and I am sure that my journey with the company will be a huge learning experience.”

He said that his responsibility at Snapdeal will be “institutionalising best of breed product development practices to ensure Snapdeal is a world class engineering organization.” The company’s co-founder, Rohit Bansal, has welcomed Ganjoo with open arms, having cited the new recruit’s “15 years of rich experience across various domains” and wished him luck for his time with Snapdeal.

Twitter had already recently suffered the poaching of dozens of major employees by the ride-sharing companies Uber and Lyft, though there is recent evidence that it could finally be recovering from a financially challenging period.
