Two more items have been added to Apple’s vintage and obsolete products list; the iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini 2.
We first saw the iPad Air 2 on the market in October 2014, and it was the first iPad to include a Touch ID fingerprint sensor. It also incorporated Apple’s A8X processor and boasted a laminated display that effectively removed the air gap between the display and the front glass, which made it thinner than the first iPad Air.
As for the iPad mini 2 – which was also often referred to as the “Retina iPad mini” – the small tablet was made available in November 2013. Other than its Retina display with 2048 x 1536 resolution, and slightly greater weight and thickness than the iPad mini 1, it looked identical to the model that preceded it. The A7 processor and M7 coprocessor were used in this device.
Some users will be surprised to see that the 2014 13-inch MacBook Pro has not yet been moved from the vintage list to the obsolete one, as the 2014 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air models have been.
