Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. announced at NBAA2013 that it has enhanced its free Apple(R) iPad(R) app, Universal(R) Mobile, by integrating its popular trip reference tool UVTripPlanner(SM), which provides information on worldwide airports, FBOs, ground handlers, in-flight caterers, ground transport providers, hotels, and more. UVTripPlanner(SM) is available for free to anyone who downloads the Universal(R) Mobile app, which can be accessed at http://universalweather.com/app, or NBAA attendees can visit Universal exhibit C11016 in Las Vegas.
The information in UVTripPlanner(SM) is the same data used and audited daily by Universal(R) in facilitating business aviation trips worldwide, and it’s licensed by nearly every major scheduling software application in the business aviation industry.
“It is critical business aviation professionals have accurate, worldwide airport-related information they can rely on to successfully plan their trips,” said Randy Stephens, Division Vice President, Product Management, Universal(R). “With the continued evolvement in how people in our industry now work, it only made sense to make it available for the iPad through our Universal(R) Mobile app. And instead of charging users for it, we made the decision to make it open-access so that everyone could benefit from utilizing UVTripPlanner data.”
Through Universal(R) Mobile, Universal clients receiving online weather services will also now have access to expanded weather capabilities such as radar, satellite, TAFs and METARs, which were also introduced with this latest release.
Since launching in 2012, adoption of Universal(R) Mobile has grown rapidly month-over-month, and the app now has over 17,000 active users. It allows users to access a full range of trip management applications available through Universal(R), including:
