Images shared by the @xleaks7 Twitter account and choosebesttech.com are apparently giving us a preview of the appearance of the Google Pixel 7. The CAD-based renders have come out very early in the development cycle, particularly considering we aren’t expecting an official release until October.
The 3D model shows a design largely resembling that of the Pixel 6, but with some notable changes. The website reported that the device’s dimensions, for instance, would be 155.6 x 73.1 x 8.7mm (11.5 with the camera bump), which would make the new phone slightly smaller and thinner than its predecessor.
The renders also show the back camera module seemingly blended into the side chassis to look like a single piece. The report suggests there is a good chance of the Pixel 7’s camera module being the same colour as the side chassis. The arrangement on the module, however – of two lenses and a flashlight – is the same as that used on the Pixel 6.
It also seems from the leaked imagery that an mmWave 5G antenna has been incorporated into the model – or at least, it certainly looks like the sensor that also appears on the side of the iPhone 12 and 13.
Putting aside all of these changes, the design of the Pixel 7 – according to these images – looks largely like the Pixel 6’s. That means such features as the in-screen fingerprint sensor, the USB Type-C port, and the sim tray on the left side are expected to remain much the same.
