iOS intelligently suggests photos from your library that look great on the Lock Screen, and you can set a cadence for these updates. Plus, you can apply various styles to your photos on the Lock Screen. It will automatically change the tinting, color filter, and even font style to match each other.
There’s also a set of widgets that you can choose to display on your Lock Screen. For example, you can view information like the weather, time, date, upcoming events in your calendar, battery levels, time zones, alarms, and Activity ring progress.
Live Activities on the Lock Screen help you stay on top of things happening in real time. For example, you can follow an ongoing sports game or track the progress of your ride or order with just a glance. Plus, iOS can suggest you a really relevant set of Lock Screens for different Focus options.
Apple collections of classic, dynamic, or landscape Lock Screens are also designed just for iOS 16. You can choose from a set of astronomy-themed Lock Screens. They update with live conditions. You can also look at live weather conditions on your Lock Screen. Plus, you can come up with patterned Lock Screens using your favorite emoji and select a color gradient with your favorite color combinations.
Overall, my iPhone’s new Lock Screen features have made it much more personalized and fun to use! We also love the new design for Now Playing and notification animations that make notifications visually pop. It’s like having a whole new phone!
Amazing Updates

One of our favorite features is the Easy Shortcuts setup. With this, Siri can run shortcuts from your apps without any setup required. It’s super convenient and saves you a lot of time!
Another cool feature is the ability to automatically send messages without having to confirm each time. All you have to do is enable this feature in Settings, and you’re good to go! Plus, you can now insert emojis in your texts using Siri. How cool is that?
Oh, and have you tried asking Siri, “Hey Siri, what can I do here?” This is a great way to discover Siri’s capabilities in iOS and apps. You can even ask about a specific app like “Hey Siri, what can I do with iRobot?”
But wait, there’s more! Siri can now help you hang up a call completely hands-free. All you have to do is say, “Hey Siri, hang up,” and Siri will do the rest. This feature is also available in Settings.
Lastly, Siri now processes more types of requests offline without an internet connection. This includes Home Control (HomeKit), intercom, and voicemail.
Improved Messages
One of our favorite features is the ability to edit a message after sending it. You can make changes for up to 15 minutes after sending it, and the recipients can see a record of the edits made to the message. Plus, you can return any message for up to 2 minutes after sending it. It’s a total lifesaver for those times when you realize you’ve made a mistake!
Another cool feature is the ability to mark messages as unread. It’s really helpful when you have no time to reply at the moment and would like to do it later. Plus, you are able to recover deleted messages within 30 days. You can now share different synchronized activities like music, movies, games, workouts, etc. while chatting with them in Messages.
Collaboration is also made easier with the new messaging features. You can send a personalized invitation to work together on the project. All participants of the thread will be added automatically. In addition, you’ll be able to track all the activity updates from your iPhone.
Other new messaging features include tap backs in SMS threads, the ability to filter conversations in Messages by individual SIM and fast-forward or rewind audio messages as you listen.
