Use old Mac OS X Dashboard widgets on desktop with this new tool

Old Mac dashboard

Developer Zane Kleinberg has created a new website where you can relive using Dashboard widgets.

Classic Mac OS X widgets are available to enjoy through a web browser, ideal for those looking for a nostalgia kick. The widgets in question were first introduced with Mac OS X Tiger, long before the introduction of macOS, and Kleinberg has painstakingly remade them using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for a desktop experience.

Iconic widgets like the world clock, unit converter, tile puzzle, and stickies feature on the website.

You can check out the website here, and be sure to give it a go on your iPhone as the widgets stack differently.

Apple removed its Dashboard functionality when it transitioned to macOS Catalina in 2019, though Big Sur introduced a new area for widgets in 2020, though they’re not as interactive as previous iterations on Mac OS X.
