Vendini Launches Ticket Sale App for iOS

Mobile Application Transforms Ticket Sales and Crowd Control for Live Events

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — (Marketwired) — Vendini, the leader in cloud-based ticketing solutions, today announced the availability of the TicketAgent(R) mobile application for iOS. The app offers venues a fast, convenient way to sell event tickets on the go — anytime, and anywhere. The application transforms an iPod or iPhone into a simple, mobile solution for venues to sell more tickets and manage box office traffic before an event.

The TicketAgent app is available now as a free download in the App Store: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/vendini-ticketagent/id532096840.

Venues using the TicketAgent app can:

  • — sell tickets outside of the traditional brick and mortar box office
  • — control the box office rush at the start of their event

“The TicketAgent app makes setting up a mobile box office a breeze,” said Russell Thompson, Box Office Manager and Event Coordinator at the State University of New York at New Paltz. “We host events at eight venues. I used to lug a computer, printer and credit card swiper to the venue to set up a temporary box office,” Thompson reminisced, “Now I grab an iPod and bring it with me. I log in to the TicketAgent app and I can immediately start selling tickets.”

The app also helps venues seize sales opportunities outside their doors. “Many of our customers actively promote their events within their community at conventions, festivals, fairs, and university events,” said Mark Tacchi, CEO and Founder of Vendini. “We recognized a large untapped opportunity for venues to cash in on in-person sales via mobile at the community events they attend,” said Tacchi.

Now, venue staff members, armed with iPods or iPhones, can use the app to easily sell tickets. Ticket buyers pay for their purchase on the spot, receive a receipt by email, and decide how to receive their tickets — via mobile, email, mail, or at will call.

When a box office is struggling to keep pace with a growing line the night of an event, the TicketAgent app can help alleviate the long lines common to the box office rush. Staff members can grab an iOS device, fire up the TicketAgent app, and work the line, selling tickets from a mobile device while box office staff works the window(s).

“We want patrons to remember the event, not waiting in line,” said Bryan W. Jones, Director of Operations at UAB’s Alys Robinson Stephens Performing Arts Center in Birmingham, Alabama. “We’re excited to use the app to help sell tickets for our most popular events. With a busy holiday season coming up, we have many events in multiple venues across the city, often running at the same time. We’re looking forward to using the app to help streamline ticket sales and will call during our busiest time of the year,” said Jones.

The TicketAgent app for iOS expands on Vendini’s cloud-based platform for ticketing, marketing, fundraising and logistics. Launched in 2001, the Vendini platform and suite of applications including Vendini TicketAgent and Walletini, continue to affirm Vendini’s commitment to easy-to-use, web-based technology to simplify the business of live events.
