There’s a long tradition of offering familiar games consoles in various quirky designs, but Microsoft has gone especially far with its offering of a new, white Xbox One exhibiting a look inspired by Iron Man.
The console – which Microsoft less-than-plausibly claims Iron Man’s human alter ego, Tony Stark, designed – comes with some pretty cool visual flourishes, including what looks like a lighting-up arc reactor in the main unit’s center and, on the controller, a power button resembling a smaller reactor.

As The Verge explains, only three of these consoles are being given away by Microsoft France on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram – and it is unclear whether the special edition console, the reveal of which ties in with the big screen debut of Captain America: Civil War, will ever be put on sale.
Nonetheless, The Verge reports its attempt to get in touch with Microsoft with a view to seeing whether the console could get a retail release after all. Given the obvious global appeal of both the Iron Man and Captain America franchises, it’s possible that other international arms of Microsoft could soon start running their own competitions giving gamers further chances of grabbing this peculiar-looking console.
