Vision Pro Update: visionOS Introduces Fourth Beta

Apple Vision Pro

This week witnessed Apple’s further progression in its software development, as the fourth beta of visionOS was seeded. Serving as the operating system for the forthcoming Vision Pro headset, the most recent update comes after a significant gap; the previous, third beta, was launched in late August.

At present, the Vision Pro remains exclusive to a select group of developers, strictly for the purpose of app testing. This limitation implies that the vast majority of people will not be privy to the ‌visionOS‌ beta unless accessing it through Xcode. Information on the exact enhancements or features that Apple incorporates in each ‌visionOS‌ update remains under wraps.

However, Apple is not leaving developers in the dark. The company has facilitated Vision Pro labs worldwide where developers can personally experience the Vision Pro. This not only allows them a hands-on feel of the device but also aids them in seeking guidance directly from Apple’s engineers, especially pertaining to their ‌visionOS‌ applications.

Given that the Vision Pro headset’s release is anticipated around early 2024, it is evident that Apple is deep into the developmental phase, encompassing both the hardware and software components.

Current speculation indicates that the imminent beta, or perhaps the one following it, might introduce the much-awaited official ‌visionOS‌ App Store, a project that Apple has been intensely focusing on.
