Apple has announced its Black Friday shopping event for 2019.
The company will run a four-day event from Friday 29th November through Cyber Monday on 2nd December, offering shoppers up to $200 worth of gift vouchers with every purchase.
Apple has been teasing its deals with a banner on its homepage and has encouraged people to āsave the dateā, with the firm promising up to $200 worth of gift cards with every eligible purchase of an Apple product like an iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
Of course, it goes without saying that Appleās Black Friday deals donāt come close to the savings other retailers will offer, with sites like Amazon often trumping Appleās discounts.
Though the exact details of this yearās promotion are yet to be announced, the company has said that values of its gift cards will be based on products purchased, so itās unlikely that buying the cheapest iPad will reward you with a $200 gift card to spend on other items.
Whatās more, some of the companyās newest products, like the Mac Pro and the new MacBook Pro, are unlikely to be eligible for the promotion as theyāve only just been released.
Rather than offering discounts, Apple has been giving away gift cards for a number of years, allowing it to retain its āpremiumā pricing without missing out on the Black Friday madness.
In theory, it means consumers spend more than they would if they were to buy Apple products elsewhere, as Apple āforcesā consumers to buy more with their gift cards.
However, it does mean if you were to buy a new Mac for the holiday season, you could go home with a “free” pair of Apple AirPods 2 with a wireless charging case.
Apple is offering its Shopping Event around the world, giving away up to Ā£160 in gift cards in the UK, $280 in cards in Canada, and up to 200 euros worth of cards in European nations.
