What will Apple’s low-cost iPhone 9 look like?

Two black and silver smartphones are shown, both displaying their screens and back views. The screens are vibrant blue, while the back displays a central logo. The phones, including a model reminiscent of a low-cost iPhone 9, are positioned at angles to highlight their sleek design and glossy finish.

Impatient over Apple’s new low-cost smartphone, coming this spring?

You’re in luck: OnLeaks has shared some renders of what it thinks the new iPhone 9 could look like.

The company, which previously shared highly-accurate renders of the iPhone 11 Pro months before the product was released, has shown off exclusive renders of the iPhone 9 (or iPhone SE 2).

A smartphone, likely the low-cost iPhone 9, is shown from the front and back. The front display showcases a blue-and-green abstract wallpaper, and the back is silver with a camera and the Apple logo at the center. The wordings "@OnLeaks x @iGeeksBlog" are watermarked on the image.

First published to iGeeksBlog, the new renders fall in line with rumors and predictions of an iPhone 8-style smartphone with a home button and a single camera on the rear.

As we have previously reported, Ming-Chi Kuo suggested that the model would feature a 4.7-inch LCD display with thick bezels, but unlike the original iPhone SE, there’d be no headphone jack.

One of the biggest upgrades over the iPhone 8 will be the new internals, with rumors suggesting that Apple will throw in its latest A13 Bionic chip for speed and performance.

The front displays a screen with blue and green abstract wallpaper, a home button at the bottom, while the back features a camera and an Apple logo in the center. This low-cost device exemplifies elegance and functionality.

However, the new device won’t feature 3D Touch, which Apple has been discontinuing.

These first-look renders of the iPhone 9 show a metal frame and a glass back akin to the iPhone 11, but there’s no guarantee that this will be the final finish.

With Apple expected to sell the new device for less than $400, we’re expecting a metal or plastic finish to cut costs.

According to OnLeaks, the new iPhone 9 will be a smidge thicker than the iPhone 8 (coming in at 7.8mm). The company has said that the dimensions are not estimations, rather they come from reliable sources inside of Apple’s production line, where the iPhone 9 is made.

It’s expected that Apple will release the iPhone 9 by the end of March, in two storage options (64GB and 128GB) and three colors, including Space Gray, Silver, and (PRODUCT)RED.
