There have long been strong rumors that a larger, 12.9-inch iPad is set for release later this year – and more concrete evidence of this ‘iPad Pro’ has emerged particularly recently. But will there be a new iPad Mini this year? We reckon that there will be, but details of what it could be like remain scant. Here, we refer to a little of what we know so far to suggest what you should expect with the ‘iPad Mini 4’.
It seems likely that this next iPad Mini will be a substantial improvement upon its predecessor, the iPad Mini 3, which was announced in October last year and is pictured above. That tablet had only the additions of a Touch ID sensor and another colour option, gold, to distinguish it from the iPad Mini 2.
Back in April, Apple Insider reported on a video – leaked by French tech leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer, shared on his website Nowhereelse.fr, and possible to watch below – allegedly showing the chassis for the iPad Mini 4. The chassis showed a number of subtle changes to that of the iPad Mini 3. This week, Yibada reported that the new tablet could come with the beefy A9 processor and be the thinnest and lightest in the Mini line.
