Apple released a quadruple-whammy of big software updates yesterday – giving iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV owners new features to get excited about. So, if you haven’t updated yet, what can you expect once you have caught up?
The number of tweaks and additions with iOS 9.2 is huge. However, we particularly like the Apple Music improvements, including new playlist functions. We also like being able to use 3D Touch to “peek and pop” pages of e-books in iBooks.
OS X 10.11.2 has a raft of bug fixes, including for WiFi, Handoff, AirDrop and Bluetooth connectivity, while watchOS 2.1 adds system support for several languages including Arabic, Czech, Greek, Portuguese and Vietnamese, while also rolling out bug fixes for Calendar and more.
Meanwhile, tvOS 9.1 improves networking and scrolling and enables the fourth generation Apple TV’s compatibility with the Remote app on iOS. This now allows iOS devices to be used as substitute remotes for the set-top box – a previously much demanded feature.
What we have mentioned here about the new updates is barely the tip of the iceberg. If any of these updates are available for your device, you should find it easy to learn more details about the included new features through the relevant update page.
