Why Ant-Man is This Year’s Biggest Smallest Movie Superhero

Whoah! Did you see that? You know, that thing just there. Still looking? To be fair, it’s hardly the easiest thing to spot. That’s because we are actually talking about Ant-Man, the star of the latest superhero movie to arrive in theaters. He’s too small to easily see, but that’s unlikely to stop him from becoming one of the most popular superheroes on the big screen in 2015.

The big – sorry, we mean small – star is played by Paul Rudd, who helps to make Ant-Man one of the most lovably quirky superheroes to have gotten their own film. In fact, there’s a light comic touch right throughout the adventure – and this can be largely attributed to Edgar Wright, the acclaimed director of cult hit Scott Pilgrim Versus the World who helmed Ant-Man until leaving the project last year.

Nonetheless, Wright’s influence on the movie that you can currently see in theaters remains strong; he largely wrote the final script, and replacement director Peyton Reed has ensured that the end film remains true to Wright’s original vision. We have so much more to say about Ant-Man, but there just isn’t enough space for us to say it all here. Thankfully, there is plenty of space in the current issue of AppleMagazine!
