Why Imogen Poots Opted to Go Retro for She’s Funny That Way

Young actress Imogen Poots has secured herself as a real “one to watch” in Hollywood, following a string of performances in movies including 28 Weeks Later, Filth and Need for Speed. However, she decided to turn back the clock several decades for the new screwball comedy She’s Funny That Way.

The attractive Brit has revealed in an interview with ScreenSlam that, upon reading the script, it “just reminded me immediately of movies from the 70s and 80s”, adding that “those are movies that I love so much”. She also spoke positively of the influence of writer-director Peter Bogdanovich, whose cinematic work includes the highly acclaimed 1971 drama The Last Picture Show.

But is Poots genuinely funny that way in She’s Funny That Way? You can readily discern that for yourself, as the movie has recently become available for rental on iTunes.
