There is a new Star Wars video game hitting store shelves in November. That’s not particularly remarkable, surely? But wait, we can sense something different in this one. Could it be… the Force? Could Star Wars Battlefront, far from just something quickly cobbled-together to cash in upon the arrival of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in theaters, be the most authentic Star Wars game yet?
We say “authentic” because, though Star Wars games have existed in some form since shortly after the first movie’s release in the late 1970s, it is perhaps only very recently that technology has sufficiently advanced to enable a video game experience that feels like being an actual part of the Star Wars universe, rather than being something of a bystander to a pale imitation of that world.
Still, could the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront, which will be available for Windows, Xbox One and PlayStation 3 and reboot the long-running Star Wars: Battlefront shooter games series, genuinely match the movie franchise for excitement? We tell, in the new issue of AppleMagazine, of many promising signs. That issue is released today for iOS users, and you can get it if you subscribe now.
