Why the iPhone 6S Plus Has the Best Smartphone Camera Yet

On paper, the 12-megapixel back camera of the iPhone 6S Plus looks like a good upgrade from the shooter on its predecessor – but closer inspection has revealed that it is actually even better than the various specs initially suggested.

Many owners of the new large iPhone will already be aware of many of the big camera enhancements and features introduced with this year’s model. Phil Schiller, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, certainly spent a lot of time educating us about Live Photos, which capture brief but animated moments, and the ability to shoot high definition 4K video.

However, the tech news site TechnoBuffalo has conducted a thorough hands-on test comparing the main camera of iPhone 6S Plus with that of last year’s iPhone 6 Plus. It was revealed that photos produced by the former fared better when zoomed-in, remaining crisp and detailed as photos captured using the iPhone 6 Plus became more blurry.

Now, though all of these benefits are available to iPhone 6S users, too, owners of its larger sibling can also enjoy optimal image stabilization – which helps to keep photos and video beautiful and accurate even in low-light situations. In the above video report, TechnoBuffalo shows the visual difference that can be achieved with OIS in use.
