Earlier today, Apple updated its @Apple Twitter page – which was created in September 2011 and had, until now, laid dormant – with an Apple logo and the same graphic that features on the media invites for its upcoming September 7 event. So, what does all of this mean exactly?
There has already been feverish speculation that Apple intends to use this Twitter page to deliver a steady stream of updates during the big event. While Apple will already be live video streaming that event on its website, many Apple followers could still appreciate a live tweet feed, with which they could glean all of the vital news and details at a glance.
Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman has put in his own two cents by suggesting that this is indeed Apple’s intention. However, despite the reliable sources that Gurman often turns to for his own stories about Apple’s future plans, it doesn’t seem entirely likely that he is using them in this instance.
My guess as well: they’ll live tweet the event. https://t.co/XBbhk3ptZM
