Woody Harrelson has joined fans’ calls for a Hunger Games cinematic follow-up focusing on the romance between Haymitch Abernathy and Effie Trinket – the characters played respectively by him and his alluring co-star Elizabeth Banks in the franchise’s most recent installment last year.
In a video clip posted by UK news site Metro, Harrelson revealed: “I have a crush on Elizabeth Banks, I’m not going to lie.” Referring to the kiss shared by their characters in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, he said: “When we did (kiss), it wasn’t like just a light thing where we thought it was nothing.”
Tantalizingly, he added: “Hopefully, once we do the sequel to this that no one’s expecting – including the author – something will pick up for these two.”
Harrelson’s words, in an interview for the impending arrival of the Blu-ray combo pack version of Mockingjay Part 2, hint strongly at his willingness to pick up where he left off with the film that has recently hit the iTunes Store.
