Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer Reports Birth of Her Twin Girls

Marissa Mayer, the chief executive of Yahoo! Inc., has rather casually revealed that she has given birth to her long-expected twin girls, during a period of huge significance for her company’s future.

On her blog on Tumblr, a site owned by Yahoo, Mayer wrote: “Zack and I are excited to announce that our identical twin girls have arrived!” She reported that the girls were born early on Thursday, and she added with enthusiasm: “Our whole family is doing great! Thanks to everyone for all of the support and well wishes throughout my pregnancy.”

Only the day before, Mayer had been at a public call where she fielded questions from investors about the deal to sell Yahoo’s core businesses. Her new girls have also arrived shortly after Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s daughter Max was born at the beginning of December.
