You can now have an emoji graved on your AirPods

AirPods Max vs. Sonos Ace: 6 Standout Differences

If you’re looking for a way to give your AirPods case some oomph, you’re in luck!

Apple has introduced new engraving options for the AirPods, allowing consumers who buy the latest AirPods 2 or AirPods Pro to have emoji characters engraved on their new earbuds.

The company has offered personalization and engraving since the launch of the original AirPods, but until now, those engravings were limited to text.

The latest update marks the first time Apple has allowed users to add emoji to an official Apple-engraved product.

Though not every emoji character is available for engraving, some of the most commonly-used characters, including the smile, the rabbit, the poop, and the dog can be etched onto your AirPods Charging Case for free when you buy from the Apple website.

At present, it’s not possible to engrave your AirPods officially via any other method.

Users can also add text to personalize their devices, with Apple introducing a new uppercase typeface that offers more pop than the original typeface, which was lower case and smaller on the AirPods.

Right now, it’s not possible to mix emoji and text – you must choose one or the other, though, for text-based options, you can add numbers and dates.

Once you add a pair of AirPods or AirPods Pro to your basket, you can click on the ‘Add Engraving’ option and run through the short engraving process.

You can add up to 22 characters of text on the text option, or one emoji which will be printed on the AirPods case.
