The past couple months for Zynga have been nothing but legal woes and executive resignations. And now it seems that there is no end in sight for the powerhouse mobile game developer. For anyone unfamiliar, Zynga is responsible for bringing you FarmVille, Draw Something, Words With Friends, and a slew of other chart-topping titles.
The newest company casualty comes with the resignation of Wilson Kriegel, who headed up OMGPOPโs advertising, monetization and business development. Kriegel was already an established worker at OMGPOP when the company was purchased by Zynga for 180 Million USD in March 2012.
It is said that Kriegel was responsible for the creation and development of Zyngaโs popular hit social game, Draw Something. It is also said that the rapid declination of Draw Somethingโs user base after the purported buyout is what caused Kriegel to eventually give up his position in the company.
This isnโt the first time that a Senior Executive has left the struggling developer either. To date, Zynga has lost their creative officer, Mike Verdu, their CMO John Karp, VP Ya-Bing Chu, VP Bill Mooney, VP Brian Birtwhistle, and a slew of general managers including Eric Bethke, Jeremy Strauser, and Alan Patmore.
Zynga posted a Q2 loss of approximately 22.8 million and is currently involved in a lengthy legal battle with video game veteran developer Electronic Arts. Earlier this year EA accused Zynga of copying its Facebook release of โThe Sims Social.โ
