9.7-Inch iPad Pro Reportedly Could Have 12-Megapixel Camera

While, as previously reported, the upcoming 9.7-inch iPad expected next month should largely match the 12.9-inch iPad Pro in specs, it has since emerged that the smaller tablet could actually go slightly further with the inclusion of a 12-megapixel rear camera and the ability to shoot 4K video.

This news comes from 9to5Mac writer Mark Gurman, who cites his sources claiming that internal prototypes of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro include this camera. The 12.9-inch model, for comparison, has an 8-megapixel back shooter. There is already evidence that the smaller Pro will have a flash – and, indeed, the device’s size could further help make it the more practical iPad for photography.

Gurman adds that this smaller Pro, like the iPhone 6S, “would also record 4K video”. He further reports that the tablet is expected to feature an updated display with brightness and anti-glare enhancements over the display of its predecessor, the iPad Air 2.
