Apple Reportedly Set to Launch New TV Guide – Minus Netflix

Finding video content to watch on your Apple device could soon become much easier, as Apple is about to launch an intuitive TV guide for both Apple TV and iOS devices, reports Recode.

Citing anonymous “industry sources”, the news site says that the guide, to be officially announced at Apple’s “hello again” event tomorrow, will aggregate and display content available across a range of apps, thereby preventing the need for those apps to be separately perused.

Within the TV guide, “deep links” will be able to send users directly to the content, Recode continues. Nonetheless, sources have apparently conceded that Netflix won’t be among the media firms with content that will be searchable via the TV guide.

It is unclear why Netflix content will not be incorporated, especially as Recode notes that Apple and Netflix have worked closely together in the past. At any rate, Apple apparently intends the guide to tie in with the “Single Sign-on” feature that was previously set for inclusion in tvOS 10 and has since been delayed, but plausibly could finally become available tomorrow.
