Apple Set to Accept Trade-ins for Three Apple Silicon Mac Models Following WWDC

Although Gurman anticipates Apple introducing new Mac hardware during the keynote, including a possible 15-inch MacBook Air, he is unsure about an announcement regarding updated Mac Studio models. The Mac Studio, launched in May 2022, currently features M1 Max and M1 Ultra chip configurations, with no news of a refresh since. Other Macs with M2, M2 Pro, and M2 Max chips have been released in the meantime.

Despite uncertainty around their launch date, Gurman believes that two new Mac Studio models are in the pipeline. While the notion of an update announcement during WWDC is not completely dismissed, Gurman posits that Apple might wait for the M3 chip generation to avoid impacting the sales of the Apple silicon Mac Pro.

Alongside this, rumors are circulating that Apple is developing 13-inch MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models with the M3 chip. However, the first M3 Macs are not expected until later this year. Therefore, Gurman’s latest news about Apple’s new Mac trade-ins does not necessarily suggest the imminent arrival of successors for all the mentioned devices.

Apple’s move to accept trade-ins for these three new Mac models is likely a strategic decision to encourage customers to upgrade their devices and keep up with the latest technological advances.

It remains to be seen what other surprises Apple has in store for its WWDC 2023 keynote event, an occasion that is sure to captivate tech enthusiasts and audiences around the world.
