Apple Set to Introduce USB-C Ports in AirPods Lineup Apple is gearing up to incorporate USB-C ports in its standard AirPods and AirPods Max as early as 2024, as reported by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

In the context of revealing detailed expectations for Apple’s forthcoming “Wonderlust” event — which is poised to showcase a range of new products including the Apple Watch Series 9, second-generation Apple Watch Ultra, and iPhone 15 series — Gurman disclosed that the tech giant aims to transition all of its Lightning-based accessories to USB-C.

The first to adopt this change will be the AirPods Pro, with this apparently set to be announced during the Apple event next week. A USB-C port is also expected to be a highlight feature of the new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models. Gurman indicated that the new AirPods Pro will not introduce “any other major new hardware features.”

Looking ahead, Apple is planning to infuse its AirPods lineup with health features, such as body-temperature sensing and a hearing-test system.

These advancements are expected to be integrated at some stage after the complete transition to USB-C across the AirPods models.
