The anticipated introduction of the M4 processor across Apple’s Mac lineup signifies a major leap in these devices’ technological development.

Amid reports of an M3 Ultra still being under wraps, the M4 is expected to deliver substantial improvements in speed and efficiency. Apple plans to initially introduce the M4 in the lower-end 14-inch MacBook Pro towards the end of the year, when we could also see a new 24-inch iMac.

Subsequently, the M4 rollout will reportedly extend to high-end MacBook Pro models and Mac mini variants from the end of 2024 into early 2025.

By the spring to the end of 2025, Apple aims to complete the M4 transition with new MacBook Air models, the Mac Studio, and the Mac Pro.

The M4 chip is particularly notable for its enhanced artificial intelligence capabilities. Although specific features are yet to be detailed, the processor is expected to optimize performance, reduce power consumption, and support new functionalities across a range of applications.
