Apple TV+ has shown steady growth in the US, reaching a 9% market share in the second quarter of 2024.
This marks an increase of one percentage point from the previous quarter, when the service’s overall share was 8%. The growth is attributed to the platform’s expanding content library, which is soon set to include new seasons of the popular series Severance, Silo, and Pachinko, as previewed during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024.
According to a JustWatch report, Apple TV+ has now surpassed Paramount+, which also holds a 9% market share.
The platform is edging closer to Hulu, which has a 10% share, and Disney+, at 11%. The report highlights that Apple TV+’s original content has been performing well on streaming charts, contributing to the platform’s increasing market presence.
Meanwhile, Amazon Prime Video and Netflix remain the top competitors in the US streaming market, each with a 22% share. However, Amazon Prime Video has faced challenges maintaining its lead, despite Netflix’s slight growth. Max (formerly HBO Max) holds a 14% market share.
