Apple has announced that its latest innovation, the Apple Vision Pro, will be available to customers from February 2, following its unveiling at WWDC 2023.

This marks Apple’s first venture into mixed reality headsets, with pre-orders beginning on January 19. Designed exclusively for the U.S. market initially, the company plans to expand its availability globally later in the year.

The Apple Vision Pro, priced at $3,499, will be sold through Apple’s website and selected Apple Store locations. Customers will need to book a fitting appointment at an Apple Store for personal adjustments to their headsets and lenses.

The package includes the Solo Knit Band and Dual Loop Band, offering two fitting options, as well as a Light Seal, two Light Seal Cushions, an Apple Vision Pro Cover, Polishing Cloth, Battery, USB-C Charge Cable, and USB-C Power Adapter.

Additional lens options are available for $99 for readers and $149 for prescription Zeiss Optical inserts.

Featuring a high-specification VR design, the Apple Vision Pro boasts an array of external sensors, 23 million pixels across two displays, and a custom dual-chip design of Apple Silicon. This includes the M2 chip for application processing and the R1 chip for real-time spatial computing rendering. Users can adjust the blend between a fully immersive experience and their local environment using a Digital Crown.

The headset also introduces the Persona feature, allowing users to create a digital representation of themselves for FaceTime calls and apps. A unique EyeSight feature displays the user’s eyes on the external display, indicating whether they can see others while fully immersed in the headset’s experience.

While the Apple Vision Pro represents a significant investment, it is rumored that Apple is already developing a more affordable version and a second-generation model with enhanced features.
