Apple Watch Customers Forced to Make Appointments?

People wishing to purchase the Apple Watch may be forced to book an appointment online. A leaked memo obtained by MacRumours says that customers will have to book themselves in for an appointment and will not simply be able to walk into a store should they wish to buy the wearable tech.

The device is to be launched on April 24th. Shoppers will apparently be told to make a ā€œproduct reservationā€ before they turn up to obtain their device. The document says: “If a customer walks in and wants to purchase a watch, offer the option to try on a watch. Then help them place an order online or through the Apple Store appā€.

Itā€™s thought that shoppers will only be able to buy the device without making an appointment first after initial demand has died down. Customers can pre-order and try on by appointment from April 10th.

The Apple Watch was recently launched at the companyā€™s Spring Forward event. A number of editions have been developed, with prices ranging dramatically. Though many companies have made smartwatches available in the past, Appleā€™s wearable tech is expected to shake up and redefine the industry.
