Facebook Enables Flag Filter for Avatars After Paris Attacks

Following the attacks in Paris yesterday, Facebook has enabled its users to show solidarity with victims, their families and France by adding a French flag filter to their profile images.

Any Facebook user, through either the website or a mobile app, can apply the filter by using the social network’s ’causes’ feature. When you see a friend add the filter to their profile picture, click the ‘Try It’ button that appears in the bottom right corner of the status update.

This should then lead you to a ‘Customize Your Profile Picture’ section, where you can select the cause of France and add the filter. You can also schedule the filter to expire after a specific duration of time, such as one hour, day, week or longer.

Here at AppleMagazine, our thoughts are very much with the attack victims, their families and France.
