Facebook iOS App Now Supports Uploads of 360-Degree Photos

If you’ve often enjoyed showing off panoramas captured on your iOS device, you can now more easily do so on Facebook, too, thanks to a fresh update to the social media site’s iOS app.

Once you have taken a panorama on your device, just upload it to the Facebook iOS app as you would a standard photo – by tapping Photo in the app before selecting the image. Facebook will then, as it has explained in a blog post, convert it to an “immersive” 360-degree photo.

In Facebook’s News Feed, a 360-degree photo is indicated by a compass icon on its right-hand side. Anyone on Facebook can explore the image by moving their phone around or, if they are instead viewing the scene on a computer, clicking and dragging it.
