Introducing Collections and Time to Run for Apple Fitness+

Apple Watch Fitness

Set for January 10, Collections and Time to Run will be released on Apple Fitness+, the first fitness and wellbeing service built completely around the Apple Watch.

Collections are a curated series of workouts and meditations from the Fitness+ library, designed to assist users in reaching a goal. Time to Run, meanwhile, is an audio experience aimed at helping users to boost the quality and consistency of their running. To this end, Time to Run will incorporate popular running routes in notable cities.

Collections will draw from nearly 2,000 studio-style workouts and guided meditations, to give users an entirely new way to motivate themselves as they start their next workout or meditation. It will also include a suggested plan to aid users in making intentional training choices over the following days or weeks.

Meantime, the audio running experience Time to Run will consist of episodes each concentrating on a popular running route in a notable or iconic location. The episodes will feature coaching tips from familiar Fitness+ trainers including Jamie-Ray Hartshorne, Emily Fayette, Scott Carvin and Sam Sanchez, along with one new running trainer, Cory Wharton-Malcolm.

Time to Run episodes also comprise motivational and energizing music, in playlists curated by the Fitness+ trainers. The playlists are designed to match the intensity, location and coaching of each run, and can be saved for later listening at a time of the user’s choosing. During Time to Run, users will also be sent photos taken by the Fitness+ trainer of significant sights along their route. Images will be accessible in the workout summary afterward, users having the option to save them to their photo library or share with others.

January 10 will also see the introduction of the third season of Time to Walk. This audio experience – designed to encourage people to boost their physical activity levels by walking more often – is set to feature Rebel Wilson, Bernice A. King and Hasan Minhaj among its third-season guests.

Finally, the Artist Spotlight series will also be updated with workouts featuring tracks from Ed Sheeran, Shakira, Pharrell Williams, and the Beatles.
