Two reliable sources have reported that Apple will formally reveal the iPhone 5SE, iPad Air 3 and new Apple Watch bands at a media event on March 15.
The news was first broke by 9to5Mac‘s Mark Gurman, before further confirmation by John Paczkowski of BuzzFeed News. Paczkowski had previously correctly predicted the date for Apple’s last product launch event in September, while Gurman’s record includes rightly predicting that last year’s new iPads would appear at that event, against recent tradition for iPad launches.
Both writers have consensus on the products to be launched at the March 15 event. Gurman claims that the 4-inch iPhone 5SE will have an A9 chip and Apple Pay support, and take the current price of the iPhone 5S, which starts at $450. Meanwhile, recent leaks suggest that the iPad Air 3 will come with quad speakers and a Smart Connector.
Paczkowski reports that, according to his sources, this March event will be smaller than Apple’s previous September event. This suggests that it could be held at Apple’s Town Hall in Cupertino, which the company has often used for events of similar scale.
