Is Apple About To Take On Hollywood?

With the sheer versatility of the Apple brand and all of the exciting new ventures they’re constantly researching into, it’s no wonder that there have been rumors of Apple wanting to create their own TV shows and movies.

Apple is currently in talks with several different Hollywood studios about the possibility of creating TV content for a brand new streaming service that will only be available on Apple TV.

Apple looks set to take on the likes of Netflix and Amazon Prime by not only offering a vast library of old and new TV shows and movies but also having a healthy selection of their own exclusive content.

According to a report posted by the New York Post, Apple is interested in buying Time Warner, a purchase which would give them ownership of HBO, TBS, CNN, TNT and the Cartoon Network. However, Apple is not the only company who has been trying to buy Time Warner. Several bids have been made in the past, all of which have been rejected or have fallen through.

Exclusives have proven successful for Apple in the past, with Apple Music featuring a slew of exclusive albums from huge artists, some of which have even been nominated for Grammys.

Apple already has access to HBO shows without needing to own the company, but this acquisition could mean that they want to make their own content under the prestigious HBO name. Apple has not commented on the current state of their own streaming service – or even confirmed if it exists – but with Time Warner under its wing, Apple would be in a strong position to top the TV streaming market.
