Microsoft Advertises Features of Windows Ink In New Advert

With the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, Microsoft brought Windows Ink, which lets touchscreen device owners make use of various on-screen annotating features. Now, the versatility of Windows Ink has been shown off in a new advert shared by Microsoft.

While you can also use Windows Ink with your fingers, the advert shows how, with a pen, users can quickly handwrite – rather than type – Sticky Notes which can then be fed into Cortana. The ad even shows an iPhone with a notification from the Cortana iOS app on the lock screen – a good demonstration of how Windows Ink can even work, albeit indirectly, with an Apple device.

The advert also shows how Windows Ink can help you to draw beautiful art on what Microsoft calls “the sketchpad” and make quick annotations on top of apps such as Microsoft’s own OneNote. And then the words “GOING STRONG” are written on a photo of a happy-looking couple. Ahh…

Don’t be too concerned if you don’t yet have the Anniversary Update; Microsoft has revealed that it could take until early November for the update to reach all Windows 10 users. You can also manually get the update by clicking ‘Update now’ on Microsoft’s Windows 10 download page.
