Missing Messages notifications on your iPhone 12? You’re not alone!

Missing Messages

A growing number of iPhone 12 owners are reporting issues with notifications on Messages.

Technology critics may have praised this year’s iPhones, but it appears as though there’s a software or hardware glitch affecting the delivery of Messages notifications on newer iPhone 12 devices running iOS 14.

Currently, some users aren’t being alerted to the fact that there’s a new unread message, either with an alert on the Notification Center or via a badge.

According to Apple’s support forums, the issue appears to be limited to those with an iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, or iPhone 12 mini running iOS 14, and there are now many thousands of likes and comments from users facing similar issues on their devices.

Most affected users are reporting a lack of in-app notification, a lack of red dot indicator on the Messages app, and a lack of Message notifications on their lock screens, suggesting that they haven’t received a message when they have.

Some have encouraged users to reset their iPhone to factory default settings and others recommend changing iCloud settings, but it does not appear as though there’s an official solution to the problem just yet.

Apple is expected to drop iOS 14.3 in the coming days, and this could offer a fix to the bug.
