New Images Reveal Apple Watch Packaging and Bands

The first images of the Apple Watch box have been unveiled by an Instagram user. The images seem to have been posted from New York and feature the box for the 42mm stainless steel version of the wearable tech as well as a Milanese Loop band.

Another image show the box for buying standalone straps, in this case the Leather Loop strap. The images seem to confirm that the units have started to be sent out to certain individuals. Pharrell Williams was seen wearing a Gold Edition of the Watch whilst appearing on The Voice, with Tim Cook being seen sporting the device at the NCAA championship game. People can try on the Watch in-store from Friday, which is the same day pre-orders go live. A leaked memo from Apple retail head Angela Ahrendts seemed to confirm that only a limited number of Watches will be hitting the physical shops for the time being.

Despite the buzz surrounding the product, Apple apparently wants people to stop sleeping outside their stores. Ahrendts’ memo apparently instructed staff to encourage consumers to order the devices online. “The days of waiting in line and crossing fingers for a product are over for our customers”,the memo said.
