A new photo, posted to the Chinese microblogging site Weibo, allegedly shows packaging of the upcoming 4-inch iPhone SE. The intriguing image could confirm that the device will, as per previous reporting, include both a 16GB storage option and NFC connectivity.
Though, as suggested by MacRumors, the depicted packaging could actually be photoshopped, now could be a relatively easy time for leakers to get their hands on the genuine packaging, given that the iPhone SE should be announced only a few days from now.
Interestingly, the image further suggests that EarPods will be included in the box, meaning that the familiar 3.5mm headphone jack, believed to be facing the axe for the iPhone 7, should stay for this smaller handset. Meanwhile, the mention of NFC connectivity strengthens the credibility of reports that full Apple Pay functionality will make it into the iPhone SE.
Though 16GB seems to have fallen in popularity as a storage option for many iOS devices, the inclusion of this option for the iPhone SE makes sense if Apple intends to position the device as the ābudgetā choice in its iPhone lineup.
