If you’re struggling to get your hands on a coveted iPhone SE as a result of the small handset’s limited availability, rest assured that Apple is reportedly working to address the shortage.
In a Barron’s story about Maybank analyst Warren Lau’s predictions about iPhone sales during the just-gone March quarter, it is said that production of the 4-inch iPhone SE is “now ramping”. This suggests that the phone’s sales have surpassed Apple’s expectations, which the firm has recently revised up.
Lau is positive about iPhone sales during the second fiscal quarter of 2016, reckoning that the Cupertino company probably shifted 52 million to 53 million units. This is higher than Wall Street consensus of 50 million, and Lau thinks that the iPhone SE’s recent introduction particularly helped to boost sales.
At the time of writing, the US arm of the Apple Online Store continues to show delivery times of 2-3 weeks for various models of the iPhone SE, but we would expect these delays to shorten soon.
