REVIEW: LEGO Ninjago WU-CRU (iOS)

There’s now a lot of great Lego games on the iOS App Store, which means that any new ones have to be pretty good to warrant lasting attention. Sadly, the new LEGO Ninjago WU-CRU doesn’t make that grade.

We’ll start with the good news: this adventure game is, a rarity these days, completely free. Yes, it’s free to download and there aren’t any in-app purchases in sight. There’s also a lot to it for a free title; you can chop and change LEGO pieces to customize your character’s appearance, a great nod to the license.

Plus, the levels – there are over 60 in total – offer lots of environments to slice your way through. However, sadly, the graphics are basic compared to those of LEGO Jurassic World and LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens – and you get a noticeably more repetitive gaming experience as well.
