Now, this is a surprise. While weโd long known that LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens was heading to consoles and PC, we hadnโt realized that an iOS version was even in the works before its arrival in the App Store this week. Thankfully, itโs fun to play in that typical LEGO game way.
The game basically recreates the story and characters of the blockbuster movie in virtual LEGO bricks โ and, if youโve played any of the previous LEGO games also developed by TT Games, youโll feel in very familiar territory as soon as you start playing this one. There are lots of bricks to collect, tricky puzzles to figure out and little side-missions to follow โ and, actually, thatโs part of the problemโฆ
TT Games have packed a truckload of challenges into this game โ to the extent that, even with only the first chapter being offered for free, the charge for unlocking the remaining eight chapters could still look like an absolute bargain. However, thatโs assuming you donโt find the core gameplay too repetitive after having played this title’s LEGO-branded predecessors. A rehash, then, but a lovable one all the same.
