Apple’s contactless feature that enables one iPhone user to pay another without the need for any additional hardware, “Tap to Pay”, is now being rolled out to Apple Stores across the United States.
Bloomberg’s seasoned watcher of all things Apple, Mark Gurman, shared the news on his Twitter account. However, he didn’t give any indication of which exact stores had newly gained access to the feature, or a timeframe for it to be introduced across all the country’s Apple Stores.

We reported last week that “Tap to Pay” had been recorded being trialed at Apple Park Visitor Center, so it’s fair to say the spread of its availability to Apple’s wider retail real estate was just a matter of time.
“Tap to Pay” – which was announced by Apple in February – is not meant to be restricted to the Cupertino firm’s own retail stores; other businesses in the US will also be able to take advantage of it.
If you wish to use the feature to pay Apple Store employees when you next purchase an Apple product from one of the firm’s brick-and-mortar locations, you will need to have iOS 15.5 on your iPhone.
