Tandem OLED: iPad Pro M4 Display Redefines Screen Technology Apple’s iPad Pro M4 introduces the Tandem OLED Display, offering unmatched brightness and longevity.

Apple is debuting OLED technology in the iPad Pro lineup with a pioneering “Tandem OLED” display that stacks two OLED screens to enhance brightness and extend lifespan.

The Tandem OLED design aims to deliver the best in brightness and color accuracy. Announced at Apple’s virtual “Let Loose” event, the display features 1,000 nits of full-screen brightness in both HDR and SDR content, with a peak HDR brightness of 1,600 nits.

Utilizing OLED screens, the new iPad Pro offers exceptional luminance, deeper blacks for superior contrast, improved motion processing, and true HDR capabilities.

This is achieved through precise handling of each pixel’s color and brightness in under a millisecond, adjusting saturation and volumes to optimize on-screen content instantly.

This new Ultra Retina XDR technology, developed in collaboration with LG Display and Samsung Display, reportedly cost Apple $2.9 billion. This investment promises a device that delivers unparalleled display brightness and color saturation.

The iPad Pro is available in two sizes: 13-inch and 11-inch, both incorporating the new tandem OLED structure. These models are among Apple’s thinnest, with the 13-inch model at 5.1mm thick and the 11-inch model at 5.3mm. A nano-texture glass option to reduce glare is available for the 1TB and 2TB models.

The 13-inch iPad Pro starts at $1,299, while the 11-inch model is priced at $999.
