We all know that Prince Harry’s and Meghan Markle’s break from the royal family received worldwide attention and that famed television host and producer, Oprah Winfrey, got the chance to talk to the former royal couple about their lives and their issues with the British court. While that interview was, as expected, quite controversial, we’re not going to talk about it today. Today’s topic is The Me You Can’t See, a new documentary series that is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on May 21, 2021, and which reunited Prince Harry and Oprah Winfrey.
The Me You Can’t See is going to talk about mental health issues, as the former Prince and the famous host will “guide honest discussions about mental health and emotional well-being while opening up about their mental health journeys and struggles”.
“Now more than ever, there is an immediate need to replace the shame surrounding mental health with wisdom, compassion, and honesty,” Oprah Winfrey said in a statement for the press. “Our series aims to spark that global conversation.”
The show is going to feature a lot of famous people from the world of entertainment, arts and sports, including but not limited to Lady Gaga, Glenn Close, NBA players DeMar DeRozan and Langston Galloway, Olympic boxer Virginia “Ginny” Fuchs and chef Rashad Armstead. As you can see, it is going to be quite a diverse cast.
“The majority of us carry some form of unresolved trauma, loss, or grief, which feels — and is — very personal. Yet the last year has shown us that we are all in this together, and my hope is that this series will show there is power in vulnerability, connection in empathy, and strength in honesty,” Prince Harry added in a statement.
The show’s premiere is on its way and we cannot wait to see what Apple has in store for us, especially since this is both a very sensitive and very important topic!.
