The device, powered by the M2 chip, boasts an 8-core CPU and a 10-core GPU, coupled with 16GB of unified memory, setting a new standard in the headset market.

A significant highlight of the Vision Pro is its innovative R1 chip, designed to seamlessly process inputs from an array of 12 cameras, five sensors, and six microphones. This advanced chip, featuring 256GB/s memory bandwidth, ensures an immersive experience, making content appear as if it’s right in front of the user’s eyes.

Storage options for the Vision Pro are diverse, offering 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, catering to varying user needs. The headset’s visual prowess is further enhanced by its dual micro-OLED displays, which provide over 23 million pixels and 92% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. Users can experience fluid visuals with supported refresh rates of 90Hz, 96Hz, and 100Hz, along with video playback options of 24 fps and 30 fps.

The Vision Pro’s array of cameras and sensors is nothing short of impressive. It includes two main cameras, six world-facing tracking cameras, four eye-tracking cameras, a TrueDepth camera, a LiDAR Scanner, four inertial measurement units, a flicker sensor, and an ambient light sensor. The six-microphone array with directional beamforming enhances audio capture, ensuring clarity and precision.

User interaction with the Vision Pro is versatile, supporting control via hand gestures, eye movements, or voice commands. The headset also emphasizes accessibility, featuring Optic ID for iris-based biometric authentication. Additionally, AirPlay support allows users to mirror their Vision Pro view to any AirPlay-enabled device, including iPhones, iPads, Macs, most Apple TV models, and smart TVs.

In terms of battery performance, the Vision Pro offers up to two hours of general use and extends up to 2.5 hours for video playback. Other notable features include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, HDR10 support, and Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking, further enhancing the user experience.

The Vision Pro is set to launch in the U.S. on Friday, February 2, with its pre-order phase already underway.

Apple has announced plans to release the headset in additional countries later this year, although specific details regarding the timeline and locations remain undisclosed.
