We Will Wait Before Showing PS4 Neo, Says PlayStation Boss

While the previously rumored PlayStation 4 Neo console is real, you shouldn’t expect it to be physically revealed until there is sufficient content for showing off the machine’s capabilities. That’s the message sent by PlayStation boss Andrew House, who insisted that Neo won’t appear at E3.

As The Guardian reports, the CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment declared this at the Los Angeles-based E3 video games conference, explaining: “The point of confirming the existence of PlayStation 4 Neo and the bare bones of the plan last week was about not disappointing the fan base who would obviously come to E3 with high expectations of all kinds of announcements”.

He further clarified that waiting until Sony has “a full range of experiences” to showcase at the Neo’s eventual reveal will help the company to demonstrate “why this product’s great and that’s why we’re offering it”.

House emphasized, however, that the Neo is “an additional option, it’s a high-end version of a PlayStation 4, let’s be very clear about that, rather than a generational shift.” So, if you’ve got a PlayStation 4, there’s no need to consider its days as a current generation console numbered.
