Next week will see Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference being held for 2015. You can watch it live on Apple’s website, but what products should you expect to be formally announced during the big event? Here are details of products that could appear at WWDC this year, plus our own thoughts about how likely they really are to turn up.
iOS 9 As Apple traditionally launches a major update to its mobile operating system annually, expect iOS 9 to be announced ahead of a launch later in the year. Plus, 9TO5Mac has previously leaked details of new features. VERY LIKELY
OS X 10.11 This, too, seems likely due to tradition – and we have already recently dedicated an entire article to detailing what is likely in the next update to Apple’s desktop operating system. VERY LIKELY
New 4-Inch iPhone What will this actually be called? iPhone 6C? Maybe even iPhone 7C? We can’t be certain – and, anyway, assuming that it even exists to possibly appear at WWDC, it would likely only appear as an early build. Also, why would Apple break from its usual routine of revealing new iPhones in September? VERY UNLIKELY
6th Generation iPod Touch Last month, we reported rumors that this long-awaited update to the iPod Touch line could appear at WWDC. Interestingly, however, Master Herald has reported that one source that had claimed it would appear then, Crossmap, has since changed its stance and predicted that the music player will instead be revealed alongside the next set of iPhones in September. UNLIKELY
