4K Video Depicts Three Versions of This Fall’s New iPhone

Right now, it is widely expected that the new iPhones due next month will come in just two variants – the usual 4.7-inch model and larger, 5.5-inch ‘Plus’ flavor. However, a new 4K resolution video actually shows three distinct versions – including two 5.5-inch models.

This video has been brought to mainstream attention by MacRumors, which observes that the YouTube account, ‘Bshop Kuwa’, responsible for posting the footage is seemingly linked to iPhone13.com, a Japan-based iPhone reservation store.

So, what can we see in the video itself? Put simply, a gold 4.7-inch model that, with its subtle camera bump and realigned antenna lines, looks in line with current rumor about the standard iPhone 7. Similarly, the silver 5.5-inch handset alongside it, thanks largely to its visible dual-lens rear camera, accurately reflects circulating speculation about the iPhone 7 Plus.

However, the third iPhone – in rose gold finish – to the right of the “iPhone 7 Plus”, while matching that phone in appearance and general design, actually sports a single-lens back camera.

One of the most reliable sources of information about to-be-announced Apple products, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, indeed once predicted that there would be both single- and dual-lens versions of the iPhone 7 Plus. However, he had changed this stance by May, insisting that all models of the iPhone 7 Plus would now come with the dual-lens camera.

For this reason, it seems unlikely that a single-lens 5.5-inch iPhone will actually be unveiled by Apple next month. Furthermore, MacRumors points out that, as the iPhones in this video bear the iPhone 5’s model number, they are clearly mockups rather than genuine production units.
